In the wild, young orangutans stay with their mothers until they are 7 years old as they are unlikely to survive if left to fend for themselves before they are fully grown. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2259899/Just-catching-chimpan-zzzees-Adorable-baby-orangutan-takes-earned-nap-favourite-teddy-bear.html

@LilaFlw Yes, & hopefully all 600 will successfully be released back into the wild one day. It's terrible what they've been through.

Anyone ever wonder where the crew is at?? Well, we've scattered to the wind since filming... most the guys have worked on other films. Benjamin Cunningham has filmed Tasmanian devils and been to the U.K., Mark Lamble and son have filmed crocs and crabs, Michael Dillon was just on assignment in Antarctica, and Craig Carter did sound design for two movies! But director Jeremy Hogarth and Holly Carroll have been working feverishly on the Last of the Great Apes feature film and the television series (well, except for that week in hospital when Holly had a rotten appendix removed). It's been a lot of fun, but hard work. Bear with us and look for the movies in 2013!!
